Pop superstar Anastacia (“I’m Outta Love,” “Left Outside Alone”) was at Black Calvados with her new hubby (and bodyguard) Wayne Newton. The two were married last weekend in Mexico, and stopped in Paris for some amour before heading off to Mauritius for honeymoon part II.
Glowing and fresh faced, Anastacia, 33, could not have been friendlier (with a sparkler like that on her finger…). After a brief chat (during which we discussed her amazing success outside of America– 25 million albums and loads of awards!) she even agreed to pose with the stuffed animal I had been dancing with for the evening. Don’t ask.
Meanwhile, Black Calvados is a small jewel in the club scene around the Champs, and often hosts celebrities and fashionistas such as Jaquetta Wheeler, Pink, Carine Roitfeld, Maria Carla Boscono– Liya Kebede celebrated her birthday there with a cake topped with sparklers. Despite its small size, the club packs a punch as far as hot clientele.
Last night was Cabaret themed, and the costumes were impressive with girls in outlandish flapper outfits and feather headbands. Of course the music was a more of the heavy rock genre– sending the crowd into a frenzy with Nine Inch Nails “Closer.”
Note: dancing on the sofas and tables is allowed and common.
